Dr. Amin Salmasi
Dr. Amin Salmasi hails from Montreal and has studied and worked all across Canada. he started his journey at McGill University, studying the fields of Microbiology and Immunology. Upon the completion of those degrees, he obtained his dental degree at McGill, then entered the Hospital Dental Residency program at the British Columbia Children’s Hospital (BCCH) in Vancouver.
At the BCCH, Dr. Salmasi was responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of many special needs children from all across British Columbia. To further his work in the dental treatment of patients with special needs, he conducted his master’s thesis in Public Health and researched the subject of access to care for adults with developmental disabilities. He continued his education in the field of Pediatric Dentistry by pursuing a master’s graduate degree at the University of British Columbia (UBC) with a concentration on craniofacial sciences.
During his academic career, Dr. Salmasi was a clinical instructor at UBC in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry. There, he taught dental students the best methods for interacting and treating children of all ages and abilities. Concurrent with these studies, Dr. Salmasi practiced dentistry in many different communities ranging from the small to the large, like North Battleford, Saskatchewan and Vancouver, British Columbia. Dr. Salmasi has a passion for access to dental care and has participated in several dental missions in countries such as Cambodia at the Angkor Wat Children’s Hospital and Guatemala at the Casa Guatemala Orphanage.
For the past three years, Dr. Salmasi has been associating at Chew Chew Pediatric Dental clinic in Calgary, Alberta. During his time at this position, he has treated over 3500 patients and has received excellent client satisfaction scores. After this experience, Dr. Salmasi is excited to start his own venture in co-opening the Smile Buddy Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics clinics to serve the families of Beaumont and Seton.
