Charity Work & Dental Education in Schools

Dentistry For All:

Dr. Amin Salmasi volunteers with Dentistry for All, a not-for-profit charity based in Calgary that was founded in 1995. Dentistry For All provides dental care and education to people in impoverished regions of the world. Over the years they have assisted over 30,000 patients and provided more than 83,000 procedures in remote regions of Guatemala, Nicaragua and the Philippines. Dentistry For All is run by a group of committed dentists in Canada and the USA. DFA organizes trips to Central America at least twice a year with teams of dedicated volunteers that include dentists, hygienists, translators, and handymen. They are funded by regular donors and through annual fundraising events hosted in Calgary. Their Board of Directors meets regularly and maintains the highest standards to ensure maximum value is delivered for every dollar donated.

School Visits

We had the pleasure of visiting local schools to teach children about the importance of good oral hygiene. Through fun and interactive sessions, we educated the kids on proper brushing techniques, the importance of regular dental check-ups, and how a healthy diet contributes to strong teeth. It was a rewarding experience to see their enthusiasm and to help them understand the value of maintaining a bright and healthy smile!

The Alex Dental Bus

Many people in underserved areas face significant barriers accessing dental care. Dr Amin Salmasi and his Smile Buddy team volunteer with the Dental Alex Bus offering a helping hand to those who otherwise might not receive the care they need. Since January 2021 Smile Buddy has donated $269,943 in providing dental treatment services for low income families.
